Archita Sahu – A Versatile Icon of the Odia Film Industry
Archita Sahu, the iconic beauty and diva of the Odia film industry, is celebrated for her outstanding contributions to Ollywood. She was born on June 29, 1990, in Bhubaneswar and has earned a reputation as a highly versatile actress.
Archita completed her schooling at Demonstration Multipurpose School, BBSR, and pursued her degree in B.Tech from KIIT University. Before venturing into acting, she was an accomplished classical dancer, receiving a National Scholarship in Odissi Dance.
Her foray into the world of acting began when she was in the 10th standard with her debut in the Odia film industry in “O My Love,” where she played the female lead opposite Rajdeep Das. This film, directed by Sanjay Nayak, was released in 2005. Her journey in Ollywood continued with notable appearances in movies such as “Babu I Love You” (2006), “De Maa Shakti De” (2006), “To Bina Mo Kahani Adha” (2007), “Mate Ani Dela Lakhye Faguna” (2008), “Dhanare Rakhibu Sapatha Mora” (2008), “Mu Sapanara Soudagar” (2008), “Akashe Ki Ranga Lagila” (2009), “Aalo Mora Kandhei” (2010), “Loafer” (2011), “Chocolate” (2011), “Kebe Tame Naha Kebe Mu Nahi” (2012), “Mu Eka Tumara” (2013), “Pilata Bigidigala” (2015), “Chhati Tale Ding Dong” (2016), and “Just Mohabbat” (2017). In 2017, Archita starred opposite Arindam Roy in Sudhanshu Sahoo’s film, “Shiva Not Out.”
In recognition of her exceptional talent, Archita was awarded the Best Newcomer for her role in “O My Love” in 2005. Her trophy collection has since expanded to include awards such as the State’s Best Actress Award, Oriya State Award, Tarang Cine Award, Oriya Film Fare, Banichitra Award, and ETV Oriya TV Award.
Besides acting, Archita also enjoyed a successful career in modeling. In 2004, she was crowned as Miss Kalinga. She achieved the first runner-up position in Pond’s Femina Miss India Kolkata 2013 and secured the titles of Miss Talented and Miss Stylish Hair in the grand finale of Femina Miss India Kolkata. She became the first runner-up of the competition.
Archita Sahu holds the esteemed title of being the top actress in the Odia film industry. She is not only involved in modeling but also engages in social work. She serves as the brand ambassador of UNICEF in partnership with the government of Orissa for the “Eradication of Child Labor” and is the sole actress from Orissa to have been part of an IPL team.
